4day Volunteering camp at Viniani, Fokida -> co-organized with the experienced team of Wheeling2Help

We welcome you with a few beautiful pictures from the unique 4-day volunteer action of May Day in Viniani, Fokida!

The trail had its honor, including the village with the few remaining residents in our headland, lest we miss something and have a hard time. Touching moments, hopeful messages, all together a family for the Pindos Trail and the hope it gives birth to!

The initiative was organized with the extraordinary spirit of the large family of Wheeling2Help volunteers based in our country who travels bringing joy to villages in Nepal, Africa and Latin America through actions of support and interaction, where small communities welcome them and something magical happens!
Along with the need, the group grows and together we all focus on Pindos, as the conditions in the isolated villages of the mountain range are not much different from those that the volunteers of this wonderful “family” have been visiting all these years.
The call was answered from the north by the Trace Your Eco volunteer group, the Hellenic Panorama / Elliniko Panorama and friends of the trail who have been supporting the trail for years, adding experience to the group`s shape!

The action was also attended by ANEVAINONTAS Magazine, which has been contributing to the trail for the last 2 years in an active way and has been keeping a close eye on the progress in the field, as well as new friends Halkyons Halkyons Mountains bloggers and Hike It-easy hiking companions who wanted to get to know the trail and contribute in many ways in the future.
Always close to the coordinated voluntary actions and the needs of the field team is the sportswear company from Thessaloniki Anthrax Machines, which participates in our social work in various ways and upgrades the initiative of creating the Pindos crossing trail from 2021!
Consequently, this four days we saw a white beam of light in the dull landscape that shadows our world. For many of us it was a small respite from the dramatic events that are happening at the expense of humanity and nature.

Wanting to keep our spirits up, we gave ourselves over to nature which gave us the joy and the impetus for creativity.
At the culmination of the action, the participants reached 98 and the pots all day on the fire were cooking to feed smiling, sweet-talking mouths!
People of all ages, from 7 to 70, picked up the tools to effortlessly clear the trail with an energy that still swirls within us!

We owe a big thank you to everyone, but most of all to the people of Viniani, the village President Leonidas Segditsas and the Prosili Cultural Association, who opened their houses and the old school for hospitality, their paddocks for catechism and shared with us traditional recipes and delicacies, as well as historical facts of old Segditsa and legends of Giona, which rises west of the village!
